Our Current Newsletter

Howdy Pardners,

Well howdy and good evening friends!  I hope that you've had a great day and are feeling blessed.  It's been a busy week and I've felt exhausted more than once.  Then as you look at the upcoming events there's a lot more coming. That leads me to the following...

In Isaiah 40:30-31 the prophet wrote "Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall. But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."

What is your strength?  Is it your youth? ...your conditioning? ...your wisdom? ...your friends? ...your experience? ...your intellect?  None of us can depend on our human ability.  Health, wisdom, and wealth are all vulnerable to the fragility of life and circumstance.  Only the Lord can ensure that we can survive the unthinkable, thrive in the mundane, and soar in good times.  Let's call upon, let's wait upon, let's depend upon the Lord and trust him to supply everything  that we need to live for his glory!

Upcoming Events:

OCC Shipping Funds Lunch - Sunday, May 31 after church. Help us prepare well to send the Good News of God's Love to boys and girls around the world this fall. We are accepting donations for the meal. Please sign up at the Roy Roger's table to help us be prepared with enough food. If anyone would like to bring a dessert to be served with the meal, also please sign up there. Please check with Kathy Kurth or Sandy Bemboom with any questions.

Our friends at the Riding High Cowboy Church are moving to a new location in Auxvasse starting Monday June 1st.  They have a horse arena right there and have invited folks to come out and ride horses and fellowship starting around 5:30pm, prior to the service starting at 7pm.  I was thinking that it would be nice to head over and help them kick things off at their new location.  So, if you can bring a horse thats great!  If you can't and would still like to join in come on out and enjoy the fellowship.  (To get to it, turn south on Ann St. in front of Casey’s there in Auxvasse. Go two blocks and you will enter the gate to the Callaway Youth 4H grounds.)

Baby Bottle Boomerang - We have baby bottles at the church in an effort to collect funds and raise awareness for the ministry of My Life Clinic in Columbia, MO.  Pick up a bottle and start filling it with loose change, dollar bills work too, and there's a QR code to make donations online.  See Tiffany for more information and please keep this ministry in prayer.

The end of May is almost here, and that means that we'll have our Monthly Potluck meals soon!  The first will be coming up Thursday June 4th and then Sunday June 7th. There is always lots of  great food and fellowship.

Churchwide Yard Sale - We are having a follow up sale on June 5th and 6th.  I know that several people have mentioned having items they were unable to bring to donate in time to be included last weekend, so here's your chance!  Remember, the sale is to raise funds to help pay down our mortgage.  See the attached flyer for additional information. Thanks!

Youth Lock-Out - as a follow up to our Lock-In last fall we're planning a Youth "Lock-Out" starting 4pm here at the church on Saturday June 6th and it will go all night and conclude with a special youth service on Sunday June 7th.  We have a special speaker coming to share God's Word with us and some of the youth will be participating in the music as well.  Youth - come join us and plan to spend time outside with a bonfire, fun activities, and camping out in tents if you decide to take a snooze.  A link to RSVP is below:   https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeENIExn0XiZfBnMx1yS7ekyujv6IYJcEu0gDTxSoKz9LvZLw/viewform

June 6th at 9am we are continuing the Building Blocks of Ranch Horse/ Horsemanship Clinics.  This is a series of progressive clinics led by Zach Perrin (ARHA & AQHA).  There is still room available and you can contact Zach at (517)242-6564.  An informational flyer is attached.

The next Church Trail Ride is coming up June 20th.  So mark your calendars and we look forward to seeing you there for all the fun, food, and fellowship.

Fun Horse Stuff: There is a misworded ordinance in Wolf Point, Montana that states: "No horse shall be allowed in public without its owner wearing a halter."
