Cowboy Church Round-Up Weekly Newsletter

Howdy Pardners,

Well, the Harrisburg Parade was rained out last Saturday so our stagecoach did not go over there, but there was much going on anyway with our Cowboy Church Family. See below!

First, let me say there will be no workday this Saturday, (Tomorrow) September 15th at the Cowboy Church. Many of us will be attending the Saddle-Up for St. Jude’s Trail Ride, Potluck Dinner and Auction at David and Brenda Reed’s Farm on this Saturday.

The “19th Annual Higbee Saddle-Up for St, Jude’s Trail Ride, Potluck Dinner and Auction” will be (Tomorrow) Saturday September 15th. Be ready to ride out at 10 am. Negative Coggins test papers are required to participate with your horse. The Potluck Dinner and Auction are open to anyone and everyone, whether you ride or not. Just bring a dish or dessert to share and your checkbook to enjoy this fun event for a good cause. The event takes place at David & Brenda Reed’s Farm on Randolph County Road 2910 east of Higbee, MO. The Trail Ride will be on the Rudolph Bennitt Conservation Area, but will start and finish at the Reed’s Farm. If you would like to make a donation to St, Jude’s, you may make it at the event.

The Cowboy Church Horse Fun Show will be Saturday September 22nd. Jacque Barker and MaryAnn Larison have completed the Show Bill for the show. It is included at the end of this Round-Up Newsletter. Negative Coggins test papers are required to participate with your horse. Spread the word and invite your horse friends to come and participate. There is a category for every level of experience and there are some beautiful ribbons and special prizes and gifts for all participants. . People may sponsor one of the horse contest classes for $15, which will include the ribbons and awards. Sponsors will be appreciated and recognized at the show.

If you can help the day of the show, let Jacque or MaryAnn know. We need food concession people, car parkers and horse trailer parkers, and people willing to help set up the stage and many other things.

A New Ladies’ Study is being planned at the cowboy church. A book entitled, “She Did What She Could, Five words that will change your life,” by Elisa Morgan will be used in a six-week study facilitated by Daffany Hood. The first meeting will be Wednesday, September 26th from 6:30 to 8 pm. Future times for the study will be decided that evening by the ladies attending.

Thanks to the men that mowed the church grounds this past week. Cecil and Ezra Bender and Tom Hendricks did a nice job on it. Thank you, guys! We will likely be trying to mow it again late in this coming week as well as preparing the arena so it will be nice for our Horse Show on Saturday the 22nd. Anyone that can help, let me know!

Thanks also to the crew of 8 that worked on the new bathrooms last Saturday. The accomplished allot as we make good progress toward working restrooms and a new kitchen! Thanks so much!

Thanks for all who are helping in so many ways! Let me know if you want to take on one of the jobs at our church that I listed a while back! Several have already volunteered! We want to keep our building and grounds looking the very best we can to honor the Lord who gave us this great facility!

And thank you for faithfully giving your tithes and offerings regularly to your Cowboy Church. The Church depends on everyone giving generously to the work of the Lord’s Cowboy Church in Clark, Missouri.

Please keep several of our Cowboy Church members in your special prayers to Almighty God. Pray for Gina Spicer in the home-going of her husband and church member, Donnie Spicer. Also the David Stephens family in the passing of David’s grandfather. Keep Billie Hicken (Robert Philips’ mom) in your prayers after her successful heart valve surgery today at the MU Med Center. Keep Victor and Linda Sharp, Lilly Johnson, and Steve Ritzo in your prayers. Others we know have on-going health and other challenges and we want to keep you in our prayers as well. If I am missing anyone, please let me know. Pray for the folks and first responders in the path of Hurricane Florence in the Carolinas. Pray for the ministry and work of the Cowboy Church and that God will bring more and more cowboys and cowgirls to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through the church’s work. Thanks for your prayers!
