Howdy Gang,

Vacation Bible School at the Cowboy Church starts this Monday, July 16th, at 9 am and ends at 11:30 each day. We are asking that all volunteers arrive between 8 and 8:30 am. Marcie Johnson and MaryAnn Larison are the Co-Directors for our VBS. We will also be helped again this year by the Crossroads Baptist Association Youth Team led by Bonnie Carter. Invite the kids in your neighborhood to come and be a part of this week of fun and learning about God! Our outreach to children and young families is so important to the future growth of the cowboy church!

The VBS Movie night last Saturday night was a fun night for kids and their parents. This kick-off event featured the animated move, “The Star” which everyone enjoyed. Thanks to Marcie Johnson for organizing that night’s activities.

We invite you to come and join us for our exciting Christian cowboy-style worship of God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, this Sunday at 11 am and/or Monday at 7 pm.

And while you are there, take a look at all the great progress being made on the new church building addition. Here’s just a little of what is going on there:

Thanks to the great work crew of church workers, led by Steve Barker, we had last Saturday as we began to frame-up the walls for our new bathrooms. Great progress was made. We will be working again on them this Sunday, July 15th, after the morning worship service and after a bite of lunch. (For those planning to work, we will have hotdogs, chips and cookies for anyone that wants to join us at the cowboy church for lunch before we work!) Anyone that wants to help is welcome. Bring cordless or impact drills and chargers if you have them.

Thanks to Phil McMahan, who worked all day last Saturday and Sunday afternoon putting in our electric wiring! It is amazing all that Phil accomplished in that time. The heating and cooling guys should be there on Monday and Phil has the electric service ready for them to hook the units to.

Thanks to Dave Binney for mowing the church grounds and the highway right-of-way in front of the church on Saturday. While our framers were working inside on the bathrooms, Dave was mowing the property throughout that day. It looks great, Dave!

Wednesday evening, Steve and Jacque Barker and MaryAnn and I went down to Columbia to pick up a nice set of used cabinets that Steve found on Craigslist. Other church members met us at the church building about 7 pm to help off-load the cabinets. Thanks to all who helped! We got the whole batch of nice oak-faced cabinets for only $500. Steve had budgeted over $3,000 for cabinets, so this was a great deal.

Robert Phillips is working on our septic tank with his own excellent digging equipment. The tank should be in place very soon. Robert is also shoring up our worship buildings concrete base before we install gutters on the entire building complex.

If any of you have some barn wood that you would like to donate and that would be useful for decorating in the inside bathroom walls in the cowboy church addition, please let us know. We have had some barn wood donated already, but we could use allot more. We want to form a decorating committee to help with ideas on how to “cowboy-it-up,” in an artistic and rustic sorta way!

Come and see our progress!
